Earlier this year, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the selling of the chemical abortion pill at retail pharmacies. (Editor’s note: the abortion pill is also known as mifepristone. This is not to be confused with Plan B, or levonorgestrel.) The rule change is a win for the abortion lobby and devastating news for the pro-life community and the increased number of women who will be exploited. The fact that local Walgreens and CVS pharmacies have taken steps to offer this deadly drug proves that the pro-life community has much more work to do to make abortion unthinkable. This FDA approval cuts down costs for the abortion industry by not having a doctor needing to perform the abortion. However, it increases the risk of extreme harm to the mother taking the pill and makes the murder of innocent lives more accessible.

Elise Ketch, Digital Content Creator for PAAU, expressed the fatal urgency of the chemical abortion pill distribution, stating, “When the abortion pill breaks down and forces out the uterine lining, the prenatal person is deprived of their only source of oxygen, and they suffocate to death. There is no other class of human that we allow to be suffocated at whim as consequence for circumstantial dependence.” Ketch described the risk of trauma for mothers who see the remains of their intact baby after taking the abortion pill.
“The abortion pill hurts everyone, and we will fight until everyone recognizes that it is a weapon of genocide," Ketch said.
