Artist Statement:

A Preferred Women’s Health Center is the largest abortuary in the southeast. It’s often called the “abortion destination” of our region. I wrote these lyrics initially while counseling outside of this facility. I wanted to illustrate how the violence of abortion is the antithesis of Appalachian culture and traditional folk values, which honor family and life.
