Artist Statement:
I used to be pro-choice (although never radically so) until I learned the scientific facts of when human life begins and human development. The humanity of the unborn child became particularly personal and real to me when my wife and I saw our children on ultrasounds — hearts beating, and later bouncing around in her womb like little gymnasts! And then the loss of our daughter, Elena Grace, at 12 weeks to miscarriage — holding her perfectly formed little body in my hands and baptizing her. After knowing the truth, I felt moved to write a song of love and protection from a father’s perspective.
